The Benicia Plein Air Gallery and it's August Paint Out

As of the beginning of August, I will be a participating member at the Benicia Plein Air Gallery.  The gallery is a cooperative, so all 12 of us have work up- some are watercolorists, other oils or acrylics.  Each month, a newperson takes center stage and gets a larger wall to display their work.  Eventually, I'll have that privilege too, but in the mean time, I'll have a few of my works up all the time.

If you're interested in seeing more of my work, either because you're interested in buying a piece, or just because you like the work and would like to meet me and chat about art and the universe (Ha!), please feel free to contact me through the Contact page here on my website.  From there, we can set up a viewing, and I can meet you at the gallery with a larger body of my available work.  The gallery is located in downtown Benicia, at 307 First Street Benicia, CA. 94510.

First Annual Paint Out!

Additionally, on Saturday August 27th , the gallery will be host it's 1st Annual Paint Out.  Here's a link to the Facebook page about it and here's a link to the registration form.  The fee is 30$, and we are looking for entrants.  You'll need to print and fill out the form, and mail it with your check.  It's an open application process (not juried), so if you're interested in joining in the fun, all you'll need too do is sign up and let us know.  Members of the gallery don't win any prizes, but others can win 200$ for 1st, 100$ for 2nd, and 50$ for 3rd.  Additional (art supply) gifts will be shared.  Take a look at the page with the registration form to read more about it.

I know there are some readers of my blog that are local to the greater Bay Area, and would like to get their feet wet and really work their plein air skills.  Activities like this paint out are a perfect way to meet other painters, participate in a larger community, have fun and stretch your skills, and maybe just win some dough.  For the 30$, it's well worth your time.  And I'll be around and painting too!  I hope some of you guys sign up.  :)
